Hi, we’re grateful you’re here.
My name is Joe - Baker Road is a growing adventure studio; a tent, of sorts, sheltering a few strategies to empower people to get out beyond their personal edge through adventures in nature. I believe the uncertainty and wildness of the outdoors is the perfect backdrop to better understand your relationship to self, your loved ones, and your work.
Many are familiar with a restaurant chain I founded called Hot Chicken Takeover. It was my fourth attempt at entrepreneurship but the first to gain meaningful traction. The business was an adventure in itself, giving me the privilege of leading nearly 1,000 people along the way. I sold HCT in 2021 and since then, I’ve found myself coaching leaders, building out tools for HR innovation, and investing resources and time in entrepreneurs and ideas I admire.
Saving the details for an actual conversation with you, my personal headline is that I made a pretty rough transition into ‘success.’ Unfortunately, I know many others, men especially, that have done the same - sometimes with much worse fallout. Perhaps you relate to that journey, which may be why we’ve connected here.
Through the years, I’ve met a slew of different teachers that radically changed my experience in life. From mindfulness to philosophy to spirituality to psychedelics… there’s no shortage of great wisdom out there. As I build my own capacity, I’m finding my way as a guide, coach, and general companion to others sorting through all the noise and discontent. If you resonate with any of the adventures found here, I’m hopeful we'll connect soon.
Until then, buen camino (may you have a good path).
